The United States has expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts to defend its territory against attacks by the Afghan Taliban.
Top US officials underscored Pakistan’s right to protect its citizens and sovereignty amid the ongoing border conflict.
US State Department Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Alison Hooker, took to social media to affirm America’s stance. She tweeted that she had spoken with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch, expressing condolences for lives lost in the recent clashes and reiterating that Pakistan has the right to defend itself.

Hooker added that the US is closely monitoring the situation along the Pak-Afghan border and remains committed to supporting Pakistan’s security efforts against Taliban aggression.
Trump comments on Pakistan’s leadership
Earlier, US President Donald Trump praised Pakistan’s handling of tensions with Afghanistan. He stated that Pakistan is “doing well with Afghanistan” and emphasized that he would not interfere in the ongoing situation.
Trump also commended Pakistan’s leadership, saying, “Pakistan has a great Prime Minister and general, great leadership, these are two personalities that I really respect a lot.”
