The Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed the city markets to be kept open till midnight till Eid-ul-Azha.
On weekends, the markets can be kept open till 1 am.
The LHC announced the verdict in the smog remediation case hearing in Lahore High Court.
Punjab Food Authority (PFA) submitted a report on dead chickens and claimed PFA discarded 46,670 kg of dead chicken from the Tollinton market.
94 cases were registered against sellers of dead and unhealthy meat while raids are being conducted daily for chewing meat.
LHC Justice Shahid Karim heard the petitions of citizen Haroon Farooq and others.
The court adjourned the hearing till next Friday.
