The risk of monkeypox continues to rise in Faisalabad as two more suspected patients were shifted to the isolation ward from the medical emergency within the last 24 hours, hospital officials confirmed.
Hospital sources said that two patients showing symptoms of monkeypox were transferred to the isolation ward after initial assessment.
The patients include a housewife and a factory worker, highlighting the spread of the infection across different segments of society.
According to hospital administration, a total of 18 monkeypox cases have so far been reported in Faisalabad. Medical staff are continuing treatment and monitoring the condition of all admitted patients.
One death confirmed during treatment
Officials confirmed that one monkeypox patient has died during treatment, while the remaining patients are receiving medical care.
The hospital administration said treatment protocols are being strictly followed to prevent further complications.
Hospital authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant.
They advised that anyone experiencing unusual fever or rashes on the body should consult a doctor immediately to ensure early diagnosis and treatment.
