An important contact has taken place between the government and the opposition, with a meeting held between the government team and Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai.
According to sources, federal ministers and the opposition leader sat down at the Parliament Library. The prime minister’s adviser, Rana Sanaullah and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal held consultations with Achakzai. Government representatives urged the opposition leader to move forward with political understanding and reconciliation.
The meeting also included discussion on the agenda for a proposed meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Mahmood Achakzai. Sources said the prime minister himself will respond to the opposition’s agenda and conditions.
The sources said the opposition leader will place his reservations and concerns before the Prime Minister. The opposition leader has also expressed a desire to meet the founder of PTI.
