The district administration has declared March 4 as a public holiday in Khairpur on the occasion of the Urs of renowned Sufi saint Hazrat Sachal Sarmast.
Separately, the Sindh government has announced two-day holidays for Hindu employees across the province for the festival of Holi on March 3 and 4.
According to a notification issued by the deputy commissioner, March 4 will be observed as a public holiday in Khairpur in connection with the Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast. All government and semi-government institutions in the district will remain closed on that day.
The official celebrations of the 205th Urs of the revered Sufi saint and Haft-e-Zaban (seven-language) poet will begin on 14th Ramazan.

The annual Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast draws devotees from across Sindh and other parts of the country. This year marks the 205th Urs of the Sufi saint, with formal festivities scheduled to commence from the 14th of Ramazan.
Local authorities have made arrangements to facilitate visitors and ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Sindh govt announces Holi holidays
In a separate development, the Sindh government has announced two-day holidays for Hindu employees on the occasion of Holi. According to an official notification, Hindu employees across Sindh will observe holidays on March 3 and 4.
The move allows members of the Hindu community working in government institutions to celebrate their religious festival.
While March 4 will be a public holiday in Khairpur for the Urs, Hindu employees throughout Sindh will benefit from a two-day break for Holi.
Officials said the notifications have been formally issued, ensuring clarity for government and semi-government departments across the province.
