The Islamabad High Court has disposed of the petition against the harassment of Baloch protesters and ordered to provide facilities to them.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court disposed of the application with instructions. The court also directed the authorities to provide security to the Baloch protesters seeking the recovery of missing persons.
The court also expressed indignation at the advocate general attempting to discuss the Pakistan-Iran dispute “I would like to present a USB device containing the press conference of Mahrang Baloch,” the AG said.
Press conferences are held daily and people are ridiculed, Justice Kayani remarked, adding that he did not want or would accept any USB.
He further said the Baloch were protesting in the city and told the authorities that they have to solve the matter, not the court. “So far, their problems have not been solved even in Balochistan,” Justice Kayani said.
The judge then asked for details of the cases registered against the Baloch in Turbat or anywhere else and submit them to the petitioner’s lawyers.
The advocate general told the court that the Baloch protesters did not have permission to protest. “We are not saying anything to the protesters because of the court's interim relief,” he added.
The AG further said that the government wanted the Baloch protesters to go back to their homes.
The court then issued orders to provide details of the cases filed against the Baloch protesters within seven days.
It disposed of the petition of the Baloch protesters with directions. Lawyers Imaan Mazari, Ataullah Kundi and others appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioners.
On behalf of the district administration, Islamabad Advocate General Ayaz Shaukat and state counsel Abdul Rahman appeared before the court.
