The government has issued a strict ultimatum, granting only three more days for all foreigners residing in the country without legal status to depart. This deadline, set for October 31, will not be extended under any circumstances.
Security forces have been working on identifying and tracking suspicious individuals through comprehensive mapping and geofencing efforts across the nation.
These measures are aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the country.
Furthermore, the government has announced a stern measure for those who fail to comply with this ultimatum.
Following the deadline, any movable and immovable properties belonging to illegal foreign residents will be confiscated.
After November 1, there will be no provisions for reconsideration or extensions in the deportation process for individuals staying in Pakistan without legal authorization.
Punjab
An operation is currently in progress to repatriate illegal immigrants in Punjab also, with a looming deadline of October 31.
Collaborative efforts from multiple governmental institutions are driving this national endeavour forward.
The process of identifying and documenting foreign nationals is approaching its final stages, with dedicated teams comprising both law enforcement and government officials combing through the province.
Pakistan Rangers and other security forces are providing essential support to ensure the safety of these teams.
The scrutiny of documentation held by these foreign residents is in full swing, and those who cannot produce the necessary legal documents for residence in Pakistan are being urged to leave the country by the impending deadline.
This call to action has led to thousands of illegal immigrants voluntarily departing from Pakistan.
To facilitate the repatriation process, preparations are underway to deport these foreign nationals.
The initial focus will be on those who lack any form of documentation, and stringent measures will also be applied to individuals found using fraudulent documents.
Temporary holding areas and camps have been strategically set up in various districts to temporarily accommodate the apprehended illegal immigrants.
These facilities offer shelter, food, medical care, and security. Distinguishing between male and female residents, the camps ensure that all individuals are treated with respect.
Furthermore, each camp is equipped with a registration desk staffed by professionals from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), aided by specialized software developed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
This modern software is seamlessly integrated with the border management system to enhance efficiency.
Additional steps are being taken to facilitate the transportation of illegal immigrants from these camps to designated border crossing points.
Stringent legal actions will also be taken against Pakistani citizens engaged in business dealings with or harbouring illegal foreign nationals.
Afghan citizens returning home
