Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that his party’s electoral alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will help to take the country out of a quagmire.
The MQM-P’s delegation called on Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. On this occasion, the former prime minister expressed optimism about putting in all-out efforts in a bid to steer the country out of the crisis. ‘’We want to see the uplift of all the provinces,” Nawaz Sharif added.
‘’We have always preferred to think about the progress of the entire country,” Nawaz Sharif stated.
He recounted the contributions made by the PML-N’s government, saying, “We continued to listen about the Lowari tunnel from 1972. But we had completed the Lowari tunnel project that was delayed for 50 years.”

Nawaz Sharif maintained: “We had completed the Hazara motorway, from which today the masses are getting the benefit. By completing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Chitral highway, the distance had been reduced.’’
“During the PML-N’s tenure, the price of the greenback against the rupee remained stable at Rs104. The prices of flour and sugar also remained unchanged. All the eatables were available at cheaper prices, including fruits and vegetables,” the PML-N supremo stated.

He bemoaned the severe economic hardships faced by the masses, saying, “It is quite painful to see the roti, which was available at Rs4, now available at Rs30’’.
Nawaz Sharif underscored the importance of Thar coal-like projects in the country. "Initiatives like the Thar-Coal Project can end poverty in the country,’’ the former prime minister stated.

He urged the importance of picking up the pace in terms of uplifting the country. “There is a dire need to think about promoting the fields of agriculture, industries, and information technology (IT).”
