Iranian media has claimed that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is alive and in good health.
According to Iranian reports, Mojtaba Khamenei is alive, has fully recovered, and is overseeing key state affairs. Foreign media had earlier claimed that the son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been martyred alongside his father.
It may be recalled that on Saturday Israel and the United States carried out a joint attack on Iran, striking multiple locations with heavy bombardment. The office of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also targeted.
Iranian media reported that the building of the Assembly of Experts in the city of Qom was bombed. The Assembly of Experts is responsible for electing a new Supreme Leader. Bombardment was also reported at Enghelab Square in Tehran.
