The price of gold in the global and local markets saw a second consecutive drop on Tuesday, after a massive decrease in the previous session.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs10,000, bringing the new rate to Rs539,962, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs8,573, settling at Rs462,930. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also declined by Rs7,859 to be sold for Rs424,367.

International gold prices
The downward movement was not limited to Pakistan. In the global bullion market, gold fell by a huge $100, reaching $5,172 per ounce.
Silver prices in Pakistan
Silver prices also followed the trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by Rs100 to Rs9,004, while 10 grams of silver also decreased by Rs86 to be sold for Rs7,719.
