After completing consultations with the legal team, it has been decided to file miscellaneous applications for the restoration of appeals against Nawaz Sharif's sentence in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield references.
Nawaz Sharif also signed the miscellaneous applications at the airport itself soon after landing.
The legal team consulted Nawaz Sharif in detail on the legal issues, Azam Nazeer Tarar said. He added the PML-N leader’s legal team will file appeals in the Islamabad High Court.
The Islamabad High Court had dismissed Nawaz Sharif's appeals over his absence.
The former premier has requested the Islamabad High Court in the appeals to restore the appeals against his sentence and declare it null and void.
Upon Nawaz's arrival at the airport, a legal and political team of PML-N leaders was present in the VIP lounge to hold a meeting with him. Nawaz’s lawyers obtained his signatures on legal documents.
Azam Nazeer Tarar and Amjad Pervaiz were tasked with completing the documents. Former finance minister Ishaq Dar was also present at the airport to receive Nawaz Sharif.
