Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has declared that Pakistan’s patience has run out, announcing what he described as an “open war” and a full-scale response to Afghan aggression and what he termed the “Indian proxy Taliban.”
His remarks come amid heightened tensions along the western border and ongoing military operations by Pakistan’s armed forces.
Khawaja Asif said in a post on his official X account that the brave armed forces are giving a full and decisive response to Afghan aggression and the so-called Indian proxy Taliban.
“Our forces are currently delivering a decisive response,” he posted, expressing confidence that defeat will be the fate of the enemy. He emphasized that Pakistan’s military action is not symbolic but comprehensive and aimed at neutralizing hostile intentions.

Asif issued a pointed message, saying the Pakistan Army did not come from across the sea. “They are your neighbours; they know your times,” he remarked, implying deep awareness of regional dynamics and security realities.
Taliban accused of becoming India’s proxy
The defense minister said Pakistan tried to keep the situation normal both directly and through friendly countries. Despite extensive diplomatic efforts, he claimed, the Taliban became India’s proxy.
According to Asif, Islamabad made serious attempts to stabilize relations through diplomacy, but those efforts failed to yield results.
In the midst of escalating tensions, Khawaja Asif also urged domestic political unity. He said it would be appropriate for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to stand by the federation and other provinces in the current situation.

With diplomacy exhausted and operations under way, Asif’s remarks signal a hardened stance from Islamabad as tensions along the border continue to intensify.
