Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has termed the prevailing regional and global situation as extremely alarming and called for an in-camera session of Parliament.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House in Islamabad, he said that while Israel and the United States were attacking Iran, clashes continued between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He remarked that the Muslim world stood on a heap of gunpowder.
In such circumstances, he said, Pakistan’s position had become a critical question. He stressed the need to clarify the national stance at both internal and external levels.
Responding to a question, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said consultations were under way regarding participation in the meeting convened at the Prime Minister’s House yesterday.
