United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held an important telephone conversation on the latest security situation in the region.
According to the state news agency, the two leaders discussed recent military tensions in the Middle East and matters relating to regional security and stability.
During the conversation, emphasis fell on the need to ease tensions and maintain peace and stability through diplomatic efforts in the present circumstances.
Reports said both leaders also agreed to strengthen coordinated diplomatic contacts and regional cooperation in order to preserve security and stability in the region. Matters concerning bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest between the two countries also came under discussion.
