The Sindh government has announced spring holidays for educational institutions across the province as part of energy conservation measures.
According to official notifications, schools and colleges in Sindh, including Karachi, will remain closed until March 31, 2026. Authorities clarified that online classes may continue where needed, while examinations will proceed according to the existing schedule.
The School Education Department and the College Education Department have issued official notifications announcing the holidays.
Under the decision, government and private schools and colleges across Sindh will remain closed temporarily as part of broader energy-saving measures introduced by the provincial government.
The move aims to reduce electricity consumption during the current period while ensuring that academic activities continue where possible.
Closure schedule for schools, colleges
According to the notification issued by the School Education Department, educational institutions across the province will remain closed from March 16 to 31, 2026.
Similarly, the College Education Department has announced that colleges will also remain closed from March 16 to 31, 2026. These closures apply to both government and private institutions across Sindh, including those located in Karachi.
Online classes may continue
Despite the temporary closure of campuses, authorities have directed institutions to conduct online classes where necessary to ensure that the educational process continues without major disruption.
This measure is intended to help students stay on track with their studies during the holiday period.
Exams to proceed
Officials emphasized that the closure will not affect the examination process. According to the notifications, scheduled examinations and mock exams will be conducted according to the previously announced timetable.
The School Education Department confirmed that the holidays do not apply to the examination process, while the College Education Department also stated that the exam schedule will remain unchanged.
