A meeting of the Fuel Prices Monitoring Committee, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, reviewed energy prices and supply in the context of regional tensions.
Officials briefed the committee that the country has sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel. They confirmed that fuel requirements for March are fully secured and, according to current planning, supplies will remain available until mid-April. The government is arranging additional fuel to cover demand until the end of April.
The committee was informed that strategies are being developed to import oil from multiple countries to reduce reliance on any single source.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb assured the public that there is no risk of fuel shortages and advised citizens not to panic or hoard petrol.
He warned that strict action would be taken against hoarders and instructed OGRA and provincial governments to closely monitor the situation.
Officials said the fuel supply system in the country is stable. The committee decided to review petroleum reserves and imports on a daily basis and to ensure that, under the current cargo planning, fuel will be available until mid-April.
Efforts to further increase supply by the end of April are ongoing. The government also confirmed that crude oil and refined petroleum product reserves are satisfactory.
