Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha has entered the ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings top 10 for the first time, marking a major milestone in his career. The latest rankings also saw movement among Pakistani and international players.
Salman Ali Agha surged into the top 10 ODI batters, climbing nine places to joint-ninth position. He now shares the spot with India’s K.L. Rahul.
His rise comes after impressive performances, including scores of 64 and 106 in the second and third ODIs at Mirpur. Earlier, he was ranked 18th but has now cemented his place among the world’s top batters.
Babar Azam steady, Fakhar Zaman slips
Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam remains stable at sixth position in the ODI rankings. However, Fakhar Zaman dropped four places and is now ranked 31st among ODI batters.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continues to hold the top spot in the ODI batting rankings.
In the bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retained his position as the number one bowler. Among Pakistan bowlers, Abrar Ahmed is the highest-ranked at 13th position. Fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf both moved up one place to 17th and 19th, respectively.
Shaheen picked up four wickets in three matches, while Haris claimed six wickets in two matches, contributing to their improved rankings.
All-rounders rankings update
Salman Ali Agha also progressed in the all-rounders’ rankings, reaching joint 10th position. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz climbed two places to second position in the all-rounders’ list, which is led by Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai.
Bangladesh players saw significant improvements following their series win. Mehidy Hasan Miraz returned to the top 10 bowlers, jumping nine places to seventh after taking three for 29 and two for 34 in the first two matches.
Tanzid Hasan leapt 31 places to 55th after scoring his maiden ODI century in the series decider. Towhid Hridoy moved up to 32nd, while Litton Das climbed 10 places to 82nd.
Bangladesh bowlers also rise
Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed moved up from 40th to 28th after taking four for 49 in the third match. Mustafizur Rahman rose 13 places to 47th, while Nahid Rana made a remarkable jump of 65 places to reach 98th.
Updates from T20I rankings
In the ICC Men’s T20I rankings, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner climbed from 24th to 13th in the bowling rankings after impressive spells against South Africa.
Lockie Ferguson also improved significantly, moving from 69th to 51st after taking three for 16 in Hamilton. South Africa’s Ottneil Baartman rose from 96th to 73rd after picking up three wickets in two matches.
New Zealand opener Devon Conway advanced to 70th following his 60-run knock in the second match.
