PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif submitted his response in the Toshakhana case against him and PPP leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Yousuf Raza Gilani to the Lahore accountability court.
Nawaz Sharif submitted the answers to a 10-question questionnaire presented to him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over allegations he took bulletproof vehicles from the Toshakhana.
Nawaz’s lawyer Qazi Misbah told the court that Nawaz Sharif had joined the proceedings in the Toshakhana case and a questionnaire was presented to him. His response was submitted to the court through his lawyers on Wednesday.
He further said Nawaz never demanded a car from the state repository. There is even no document to prove that the former prime minister asked for the vehicle.
The NAB prosecutor told the court that Nawaz has submitted his response to their questions, and asked for some time for further proceedings.

Judge Muhammad Bashir of the accountability court asked the NAB prosecutor about the future situation of the case.
The prosecutor replied that they would first go through the statement of Nawaz Sharif and then take any further action. The accountability court postponed the Toshakhana case hearing till December 20.
At the previous hearing, the court had accepted an application for recording the PML-N supremo’s statement in the reference. The court had ordered the bureau to record Nawaz’s statement in the case by November 30 and adjourned the proceedings till then.
According to the NAB reference, former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had allegedly allowed the retention of vehicles gifted to Nawaz and former president Asif Zardari by different foreign states, by relaxing the rules related to the submission of gifts in the Toshakhana. Gilani is alleged to have done so to extend illegal benefits to the two leaders.
The NAB reference said that the accused, “through dishonest and illegal means for their personal benefit and interest”, retained the vehicles “against a nominal payment of 15 per cent of the total value”.
