Authorities described the strikes as blatant and cowardly, stressing that they were successfully intercepted before causing damage.
Strong condemnation from Riyadh
The Kingdom expressed its rejection and condemnation “in the strongest terms” of what it called the Iranian attacks.
“These attacks cannot be justified under any pretext or in any way whatsoever,” the statement said.
Saudi officials emphasized that the strikes represented an unacceptable escalation and a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty.
Airspace pledge referenced
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said the attacks came despite Riyadh having previously affirmed that it would not allow its airspace or territory to be used to target Iran.
According to the statement, Iranian authorities were aware of the Kingdom’s position before the attacks took place.

The ministry underscored that the strikes occurred even though Saudi Arabia had made clear its commitment to neutrality in preventing its territory from being used in hostilities against Iran.
Rising regional tensions
The reported attack on Saudi territory adds another dimension to the widening regional confrontation.
With Riyadh confirming that the missiles were intercepted and reiterating its strong condemnation, tensions between Iran and Gulf states appear to be intensifying further.
