China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed strong concern over the recent US and Israeli strikes on Iran, calling for an immediate ceasefire and urging all parties to avoid further escalation.
Officials emphasized that Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity must be respected.
China’s embassy in Israel advised its citizens to move to safer areas within the country or to exit via Egypt’s Taba border crossing.
Similarly, Chinese citizens in Iran were urged to leave “as soon as possible,” with four land routes suggested through Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, and Iraq.
The moves reflect Beijing’s concern for the safety of its nationals amid ongoing missile exchanges and airstrikes in the region.
China condemns strikes
State-run Xinhua News Agency criticized the attacks as “brazen aggression against a sovereign nation” and an act of “power politics and hegemony.”
Xinhua condemned Washington’s military coercion as a “flagrant violation” of the United Nations Charter and a departure from fundamental norms of international relations.
Regional impact on transportation
Amid the tensions, Hong Kong-based airline operator Cathay Group suspended flights in the Middle East.
Passenger flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh, along with freighter services through Al Maktoum International Airport, were temporarily halted. The company announced that routes typically passing over the affected area would be re-routed for safety.
