Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has made a significant leap in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, moving to second in the batter chart after stellar World Cup performances.
Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed has also climbed the bowler rankings, closing in on India’s Varun Chakravarthy.
The race at the top of the T20I batter rankings is heating up. Abhishek Sharma of India still holds the No.1 spot, but Farhan’s consistent form has brought him within striking distance. The Pakistan opener scored a historic pair of centuries at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, including a masterful 100 against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.
This surge has propelled Farhan past England’s Phil Salt, moving him to second place with a new career-high rating. Sharma maintains a 26-point lead, but Farhan’s 383 runs in the tournament have clearly narrowed the gap.
Other key movements in batter rankings
The Super Eights phase also saw notable changes elsewhere. India’s Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma moved up to fourth and sixth spots respectively, while South Africa’s Dewald Brevis climbed to eighth.
Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett impressed by jumping six places to 11th overall after scoring 292 runs. South African duo Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram also gained ground, moving to 13th and 16th spots, respectively.
Bowler rankings
At the top of the T20I bowler rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy retains the No.1 position with 12 wickets in the tournament, but his lead has slimmed to 18 points. Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed rose two places to third, tightening the race.
Other movers include India’s Jasprit Bumrah (up to seventh) and Arshdeep Singh (up to 13th). England pacer Liam Dawson and South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi also made significant gains, reaching 14th and 20th spots, respectively.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continues to lead the all-rounder rankings. India’s Hardik Pandya moved up to second, overtaking Pakistan’s Saim Ayub. West Indies veteran Jason Holder jumped eight places to 11th, thanks to his impressive World Cup performances with both bat and ball.
