Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has lauded 20-year-old newcomer Maaz Sadaqat for an outstanding display in the second ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
Sadaqat scored a splendid 75 runs and claimed three wickets to secure a commanding victory. Afridi said that the result of the first match did not favour the Green Shirts.
He added that the objective remains to finalise a team combination ahead of the forthcoming Men's One Day World Cup 2027.
The captain urged players to stick to their natural game and play with confidence.
Afridi expressed satisfaction at Sadaqat’s remarkable performance.
He said that the team would aim to win the third match to claim the series.
The captain acknowledged the need to improve performance in the middle overs, particularly regarding wickets lost.
He highlighted that the pitch provided assistance to fast bowlers, which justified playing four pacers.
Afridi expressed pleasure at the strong bowling effort by the fast bowlers.
