Pakistan’s opening batter Sahibzada Farhan and women’s cricket captain Fatima Sana have been named among the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for February 2026.
Farhan enjoyed a sensational run with the bat during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer.
The right-handed opener broke the record for most runs in a single edition, surpassing Virat Kohli’s 319 runs from the 2014 edition. He amassed 383 runs at a strike rate of 160.25, averaging 76.60, and registered two centuries — against Namibia and Sri Lanka — becoming the first batter to score two hundreds in a single Men’s T20 World Cup edition. His performances helped Pakistan reach the Super 8 stage, narrowly missing a semi-final spot.
Fatima Sana impressed with all-round performances during Pakistan’s tour of South Africa. Despite her side losing both the ODI and T20I series 2-1, Sana stood out with a 90 in the first T20I, followed by an unbeaten 47 and bowling figures of 2 for 12 in the third match, earning her the Player of the Match award.
She also contributed in the ODIs, striking 52 runs and taking key wickets, finishing the tour with four wickets in ODIs and two in T20Is.
Other nominees include England’s Jacks, who played a key role in his team’s run to the T20 World Cup semi-finals with 194 runs at a strike rate of 173.21 and 11 wickets at an economy just over eight, earning four Player of the Match awards.
USA pacer Van Schalkwyk also impressed, claiming 13 wickets at an economy of 7.76, including match-winning figures of 4/25 against both India and Pakistan.
The ICC Player of the Month award for February 2026 will recognize the most impactful performers across men’s and women’s cricket.
