Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar said on Tuesday that preventing meetings with party founder Imran Khan amounts to a violation of fundamental human rights and a criminal act.
Speaking to the media outsie Adiala jail, Barrister Gohar said the doors should be opened and meetings allowed. He said this would bring clarity, cool the political climate, and lead to improvement. He added that talks had always been urged and that a solution to political issues should be sought.
He said the notion that conditions would improve by halting meetings was a misunderstanding, adding that the country could not bear further division, distance and crises.
Barrister Gohar made it clear that the PTI had never said that the sisters of Imran Khan were causing problems.
The PTI chairman appeared uncertain regarding the protest movement, saying the movement had both been announced and not announced.
