US President Donald Trump has postponed his visit to China in view of the ongoing war in the Middle East.
Speaking to the media at the White House, President Trump said he wished to remain in the United States due to the Iran war, adding that he should be present at home. He said the timing of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping was being changed and that China had raised no objection to the decision.
According to a news agency, Trump’s visit to China had been scheduled from March 31 to April 2.
Separately, President Trump, in a statement on Truth Social, said he was considering what would happen if the remaining Iranian state were eliminated, and what would follow if the United States did not assume responsibility for the security of the Strait of Hormuz.
He said the responsibility for the security of the Strait of Hormuz should be handed to the countries using it, adding that such a move would prompt certain inactive allies to act swiftly.
