Australian cricket star Glenn Maxwell has reaffirmed his commitment to the Indian Premier League (IPL), stating that he intends to continue participating in the tournament for as long as he can physically play.
Maxwell shared his sentiments with the media upon his return to Melbourne Airport from India, expressing deep appreciation for the IPL's impact on his career. "The IPL has been a significant part of my cricket journey. The exposure to diverse coaches, exceptional international players, and the overall experience have been invaluable," Maxwell shared. "Playing alongside icons like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, learning from them during matches and conversations, has been immensely rewarding."
The cricketer, who began his IPL journey with the Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in 2012 before moving to the Mumbai Indians and later joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore, highlighted the learning opportunities the tournament offers. Maxwell emphasized the tremendous growth he's experienced by competing with and against some of the finest talents in world cricket.
"I see the IPL as an ongoing learning curve," Maxwell expressed. "The camaraderie, learning from seasoned players, and the high-level competition have immensely contributed to my growth as a cricketer."
Having fetched a significant bid of INR 140.25 million during the last auction, Maxwell's dedication to the IPL underscores his commitment to the tournament and its invaluable influence on his career trajectory.
