This night holds great importance as it marks the Isra and Meraj of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), during which he was transported from Makkah to Al-Haram-Al-Sharif (Temple Mount) and then ascended to heaven on the celestial creature named al-Buraq.
The term Meraj, derived from the Arabic word Urooj, meaning 'height' or 'ascension,' is celebrated on the 27th day of Rajab in the Islamic calendar. It was during Meraj that the command for the five daily prayers (Salat) was bestowed upon the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
On this miraculous journey, the Prophet (PBUH) encountered Hazrat Adam (AS), Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), Hazrat Musa (AS), Hazrat Isa (AS), and other Prophets.
