Qatar has intercepted Iranian attacks targeting civilian infrastructure, including its international airport, officials confirmed on Monday.
The Qatari government warned that such strikes “cannot remain unanswered,” as regional tensions continue to escalate.
Speaking to CNN, Majed Al Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, said the Qatari military successfully intercepted Iranian attacks aimed at civilian sites. He confirmed that the international airport was among the intended targets.
Ansari stressed that attacks on civilian infrastructure were serious violations and said they would not go unanswered.
He also clarified that Qatar is not currently engaging with Iran.
Two drones shot down, one crashes in Ras Laffan
According to the Qatari Ministry of Defense, Qatari forces shot down two Iranian drones. However, one drone crashed into energy facilities in Ras Laffan.

Authorities said relevant agencies are now assessing the extent of the damage caused by the drone crash.
