The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs8 per litre, fixing the new rate at Rs266.17 for the next fortnight from March 1.
In Islamabad, the move added to the burden on the public, with petrol becoming dearer by Rs8 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs5.16 per litre. Its new rate stands at Rs280.86 per litre.
The Petroleum Division has issued a notification in this regard. The revised prices will take effect from midnight tonight for the next 15 days.
