YouTuber Rosanna Pansino has publicly questioned audience figures attributed to MrBeast after the company’s chief executive shared data claiming the creator’s content reached 1.45 billion people over a 90-day period.
The debate began when Jeff Housenbold, CEO of Beast Industries, posted the viewership numbers online. Responding on X, Pansino asked whether any of the reported views were generated through paid promotion.
She referenced publicly available information suggesting that MrBeast’s long-form and short-form videos had been run as advertisements hundreds of times last year, adding that his long-form viewership had declined compared with the previous year.
Pansino later clarified that she was not making direct accusations, but was commenting on information already in the public domain. She also noted that YouTube allows creators to promote content through paid campaigns that can increase visibility and subscriber growth.
Her remarks sparked widespread reaction online, drawing both support and criticism from users. Neither Housenbold nor MrBeast has publicly responded to the claims.
Separately, MrBeast recently drew attention after telling The Wall Street Journal that he had “negative money” in his bank account, a statement that some fans criticized as disconnected from everyday financial realities.
The episode highlights the intense scrutiny surrounding the world’s most-followed online creators, where performance metrics and public comments can quickly become the focus of global debate.
