The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has rejected reports circulating on social media claiming a sharp increase in petroleum prices, calling the information false and misleading.
In a statement issued Tuesday, an OGRA spokesperson clarified that the regulator has not proposed any such increase in petrol or diesel prices to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The clarification came after social media posts claimed that petrol prices would increase by Rs73.40 per litre and diesel prices by Rs84.95 per litre.
According to the spokesperson, these claims are completely baseless.
