Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.3 billion in remittances to the country in February.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the figure shown a five per cent increase on an annual basis, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
During the first seven months of the current financial year, overseas Pakistanis sent $26.5 billion to the country, the central bank said.
On a yearly basis, remittances received in the seven-month period rose by 10.5 per cent, the SBP added.
UAE-based Pakistanis send highest remittances in February
Pakistanis residing in the United Arab Emirates sent the highest amount of remittances in February, with $700 million received in the country.
Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia stood second, sending $685.5 million home during the same month.
Remittances from Pakistanis residing in the United Kingdom reached $530 million in February. Meanwhile, Pakistanis living in the United States sent $320 million.
