The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has reduced the fuel quota for government vehicles by 25%, introducing new limits for officials as part of cost-saving and energy conservation measures.
The provincial administration department has formally notified all departments about the reduction through an official letter.
According to the directive, the administration department has sent a letter to all provincial departments informing them about the new fuel limits. The measure aims to reduce government fuel consumption and control expenditures, particularly amid rising energy costs.
The revised quotas apply to a wide range of officials and government offices across the province.
Monthly quota of ministers, advisers reduced
Under the new policy, the monthly fuel quota for ministers, advisors, and special assistants has been reduced significantly. Their allocation has been cut from 390 liters to 292 liters per month, reflecting the province’s broader effort to conserve fuel.
The chief secretary, additional chief secretary (ACS), and finance secretary will also face reduced fuel allocations. According to the notification, their monthly fuel quota has been reduced from 146 liters to 98 liters.
DCs, police officials affected
The directive also applies to district administration and police officials.
The monthly fuel quota for deputy commissioners (DCs), additional deputy commissioners (ADCs), and superintendents of police (SPs) has been reduced from 104 liters to 78 liters, according to the letter issued by the administration department.
KP House Islamabad fuel quota reduced
The fuel allocation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad has also been revised. Its monthly fuel quota has been reduced from 715 liters to 535 liters, the official letter states.
Officials say the new policy is part of the provincial government’s efforts to manage fuel consumption and reduce administrative expenses.
