The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has rejected a statement issued by India regarding Pakistan’s operations against militants inside Afghanistan, terming it as baseless, misleading and inappropriate.
Foreign Office spokesman Tahir Hussain Andrabi said terrorist activities against Pakistan continued from Afghan soil under Indian patronage, adding that in such circumstances, India’s statement reflected open hypocrisy and double standards.
He said a country involved in oppression and violence against its Muslim population, and which had recently declared unconditional support for an occupying power, was now preaching principles to others.
The MoFA spokesperson said that such statements were an attempt to divert attention from ongoing Indian actions in occupied Kashmir. He added that India had itself undermined the territorial integrity of neighbouring countries.
