A fatwa has been issued against the song Sarke Chunr Teri Sarke featuring Bollywood dancer and actress Nora Fatehi.
The track, part of the Bollywood film D: The Devil, starring Sanjay Dutt alongside Fatehi, sparked immediate controversy upon its release on YouTube due to its provocative and explicit content.
Initially, Nora Fatehi issued a statement clarifying that the explicit Hindi version of the song was produced without her consent.
Subsequently, a fatwa was issued by the Darul Ifta in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, delivered by a senior Islamic scholar affiliated with the Muslim Personal Law Board.
The scholar declared the song’s content haram, describing it as a major sin under Islamic teachings, and labeled the visuals as obscene, calling for action against such material.
On the government side, the controversy also drew official attention. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed that a ban has been imposed on the song due to its objectionable content.
