Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer took notice of the increase in the price of urea and directed the fertilizer company to withdraw the price increase. The fertilizer company had increased the price by 561 rupees per bag.
Rana Tanveer Hussain said that the fertilizer company should provide a solid justification for the sudden increase in the price of green urea. There has been no increase in gas prices for the fertilizer industry in recent times. A price hike without any gas price increase is unacceptable and unjustified.
The Federal Minister of Industry and Production stated that the Ministry will set the pricing by the applicable regulations if a specific explanation is not provided. Profits made unfairly on urea fertilizer will not be permitted.
