Explosions rock Doha, Manama, Abu Dhabi and Dubai as Revolutionary Guards confirm strikes on US bases; Qatar says all missiles intercepted
Iran has dramatically widened its military response, launching ballistic missile attacks across multiple Gulf countries and targeting US bases in the region, according to Iranian, Gulf and international media reports.
Explosions were reported in Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guards confirmed attacks on US military installations.
Iranian officials told Reuters that all US bases and interests are within Iran’s reach. They also warned that all US and Israeli installations in the region are considered legitimate targets.
One report stated that Iran fired missiles at all Gulf countries except Oman.
Bahrain: US Navy Fifth Fleet base targeted
Bahrain confirmed that attacks had taken place within its land borders.
The country’s National Communication Centre said the service center of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet had been subjected to a missile attack, according to a statement carried by the state-run Bahrain News Agency (BNA). Bahraini officials confirmed a missile attack was launched on the US Navy base.
Smoke was seen rising from the Juffair area of Manama, which houses Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain — home to US Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) and the US Fifth Fleet. The base supports US and coalition naval operations across the Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean.

Bahrain confirmed the attack on its territory shortly after witnesses reported smoke from the area. Explosions were seen and heard in Bahrain, while emergency sirens sounded across the country.
Authorities urged the public to remain calm, head to the nearest safe place, and follow official instructions. The US embassy had earlier warned American citizens to shelter in place amid reported missile and drone threats.
Qatar intercepts Iranian missiles
Explosions were heard in the Qatari capital Doha, with at least two additional blasts reported by Al Jazeera. Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said all missiles fired at the country were shot down. Arab media reported that Iranian ballistic missiles were destroyed in Qatari airspace.
CNN reported that Qatar intercepted two Iranian missiles over its territory, while Al Jazeera cited a Qatari official confirming that one Iranian missile had been downed.
These explosions came shortly after Qatar announced it had intercepted incoming missiles. Authorities also instructed citizens to stay away from military bases as a precaution.
UAE: Explosions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai
Simultaneous explosions were reported in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, according to Reuters.
A loud bang was heard near Dubai’s Marina neighbourhood. Another loud explosion was reported in Abu Dhabi by multiple news agencies, with CNN also confirming blasts in the UAE capital.
Foreign media reported that missiles were destroyed in Abu Dhabi’s airspace. However, a foreign news agency reported that a person was killed in Abu Dhabi as missile debris fell on him.
UAE officials are reported to have shot down multiple missiles fired by Iran. The UAE called the attack a serious violation of its sovereignty, saying it reserved the right to respond to this aggression.

Kuwait: Sirens and explosions
Arab media reported sounds of explosions in Kuwait, while sirens were continuously sounding across the country. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had earlier listed Kuwait among the countries where US bases were targeted.
An attack was reported on the headquarters of Iraq’s paramilitary force, Hashd al-Shaabi. One person was killed and three others were injured in the attack, according to a news agency.
Fighter jets and missiles were seen in Iraqi airspace, with reports stating that missiles and aircraft were entering Iraq from the Israeli direction.
Israeli operations continue against Iran
Amid the widening conflict, the Israeli Air Force is currently carrying out operations against Iran, the Israeli army said.
The Israeli military added that the US-Israel joint operation has hit dozens of military targets inside Iran and that operations will continue as needed.

Rising regional tension
With missile launches, air defense interceptions and confirmed strikes on US-linked facilities, the conflict has rapidly expanded across the Gulf.
From smoke rising over Bahrain’s Juffair base to explosions in Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the region is facing one of its most volatile security moments in years.
Authorities across affected countries continue to urge residents to follow official instructions and seek shelter as the situation remains fluid.
