Metrobus fares in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi are set to increase by 10 rupees starting March 26, following a rise in petroleum product prices.
The cash fare will now be 40 rupees, while T-Cash card users will pay a discounted rate.
The Metrobus service has announced that cash fares will rise from 30 to 40 rupees across its networks in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
Passengers using T-Cash cards will benefit from a discount, paying 25 rupees less than the previous fare, making cashless travel more economical.
Reason behind increase
The fare adjustment comes in response to rising prices of petroleum products, which have increased the operational costs of running Metrobus services.
Authorities have also increased subsidies to support the service, though the hike was deemed necessary to sustain operations and ensure service quality.
The new fares will take effect from March 26, giving commuters time to adjust their travel budgets or switch to T-Cash card payments for savings.
