Eid ul-Fitr was observed with religious devotion across the country, including at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where inmates offered Eid prayers at the prison’s central mosque and imambargah.
According to sources, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan did not attend the congregational prayers owing to security reasons and remained in his cell during the prayers.
It is understood that arrangements may be made for the former prime minister to speak with his children by telephone later in the day.
Notably, this marked the third Eid ul-Fitr Imran Khan has spent at Adiala jail. Prison sources said he remained in his cell during the Eid prayers.
