Lahore Qalandars defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen in the opening match of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Thursday.
After electing to bat, Lahore Qalandars amassed 199 for six in their allotted 20 overs, with Fakhar Zaman striking a fluent 53 and Haseebullah Khan remaining unbeaten on 40. Mohammad Naeem contributed 30, while Sikandar Raza added a brisk 24 off 10 deliveries.
Hassan Khan and Riley Meredith secured two wickets apiece for Hyderabad Kingsmen, but the bowling attack struggled to contain the flow of runs.
In reply, Hyderabad Kingsmen were dismissed for 130 in 20 overs. Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 26, while Riley Meredith remained unbeaten on 19.
Sikandar Raza and Haris Rauf claimed two wickets each, with Ubaid Shah also taking two, as Lahore Qalandars maintained control throughout the innings.
Lahore Qalandars secured victory by 69 runs to commence their campaign on a commanding note.
