Former caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar was elected senator again on Thursday.
According to details, the phase of the unopposed election of seven senators from Balochistan had been completed, after which the notification of the unopposed successful senators had also been issued by the returning officer.
Ahmad Khan Ghilzai (JUI-F), Aimal Wali Khan (ANP) were also elected as senators.
Umar Gorgage (PPP), Jan Muhammad (NP) had also been elected as senators.
Shahzaib Durrani (PML-N) had also been elected.
Talha Mehmood also announced leaving his parent-party Jamiaat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and joining PPP.
“I have never been a part of any party except Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam,” Talha Mehmood. "Currently, the economic and political conditions of Pakistan are in front of everyone. All institutions including the media of Pakistan are going through a crisis,” he added.
"Pakistan will have to play its role to get out of the crisis,” he emphasized.
