In an ambush in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan, assailants unleashed a barrage of gunfire on a vehicle carrying Pakistan Customs personnel, resulting in the martyrdom of four officials.
The incident occurred in the Daraban area while the officials were on duty, with the attackers fleeing the scene following the ruthless assault.
Tragically, amidst the chaos, a minor girl passing by became an unintended victim of the violence.
Authorities have condemned the attack, labelling it a barbaric act of terrorism. The perpetrators, identified as Khawarji terrorists, have been denounced for their merciless actions, which once again highlight their disregard for human life and the principles of Islam.
Security concerns have intensified in the region, with recent weeks witnessing a surge in terrorist activities. Just days ago, militants targeted a police checkpost in Kulachi tehsil, only to be repelled by law enforcement.
Reports indicated that militants equipped with sophisticated weaponry, including laser guns, have been carrying out brazen attacks in the area.
