The new schedule of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been issued, with Karachi and Lahore set to host 22 matches each.
Lahore will stage both Eliminators and the final, while Karachi has been allotted the Qualifier matches. PSL 11 will commence on 26 March as per its original schedule.
Earlier, addressing a press conference in Lahore, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the prevailing regional situation had led to uncertainty, making it difficult to predict how long tensions or a war-like situation might persist. He said, however, that PSL 11 would begin on 26 March as planned.
Mr Naqvi said consultations had been held with the Prime Minister regarding the holding of the league, after which it was decided to proceed on a limited scale. He announced that all matches would take place without spectators, and fans would not be permitted to enter the stadiums.
The PCB chairman said that the PSL 11 fixtures have been restricted to only two cities, Lahore and Karachi, while further expenditure is also being curtailed under an austerity drive. He added that the opening ceremony in Lahore has also been cancelled.
