A well-known Dutch model, public figure, and influencer Donnie Roelvink has converted to Islam.
In a video that has gone viral, the 26-year-old declared his conversion to Islam on April 19.
"I think not many people have noticed that I had a special day yesterday," Roelvink said in a video message posted to Instagram.
“Images were taken of this, posted online and widely reported in the media. That was to be expected when I do that in the presence of a large group of people.”
For the past two weeks, he has been visiting the mosque to read the Holy Quran and keep the Ramadan fast.
Based on statistics conducted by the Pew Statistics Center, Islam has the fastest-growing worldwide population of any religion. The number of Muslims is predicted to rise at a rate more than twice as fast as the world population between 2015 and 2060.
