Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with all service chiefs, extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the nation in a special message.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the armed forces stated that Eid reflects the enduring values of unity, compassion and gratitude, adding that the true spirit of their Eid lies in the service and defence of the homeland.
The military spokesperson stated that soldiers of the Pakistan Army remain away from their homes to ensure peace and security for the nation, and paid tribute to the sacrifices of brave men and women defending the country, expressing hope that Eid brings peace and prosperity to Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah.
It may be noted that Eidul Fitr is being observed across the country today with religious fervour. Thousands of congregations for Eid prayers are being held in cities and towns, where prayers are being offered for the safety, progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim world.
