On March 25, 1992, Pakistan secured their first Cricket World Cup title with a 22-run victory over England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Led by Imran Khan, Pakistan, known as the ‘cornered tigers’, defeated New Zealand to reach the final. Inzamam-ul-Haq, then out of form, struck 60 off 37 balls to guide his side into the decider.
Pakistan went on to face England in the final at the MCG, where they claimed a historic victory.
