Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid on Thursday a one-day visit to Karachi, where he held separate meetings with various political leaders.
The prime minister arrived at PAF Base Karachi, where he was received by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori. Senior officials, including IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon and Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, were also present.
During the visit, the prime minister met a delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), which included Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Mustafa Kamal and Faisal Sabzwari.
He also visited the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur to congratulate her on her daughter’s wedding.
The prime minister had also called on Senator Sherry Rehman and her husband, where he offered condolences on the death of her daughter and offered Fateha.
“You share our grief; the loss of a child is profound,” the prime minister said.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, along with federal ministers Attaullah Tarar and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, also arrived in Karachi.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Senator Rana Sanaullah accompanied the prime minister during the visit.
