Quetta Gladiators off-spinner Usman Tariq has expressed optimism about improving his performance in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking about his preparations, Tariq said that last season his action drew attention, which was positive, and he now aims to further enhance his performance.
He added that every player who comes into the game faces key opponents and that every wicket is important.
Tariq praised his bowling partner, Abrar Ahmed, adding that Abrar consistently performs well and maintains a high ranking. Tariq said that while Abrar performs from the start, he himself contributes in the middle of the innings, and their partnership remains strong.
He stated that he is continuously working on pace variation and is learning much from fellow players. He also mentioned receiving advice from batting coach Hanif Malik and from Mike Hesson during the World Cup, and that he is focusing on improving his batting.
Tariq added that he is currently focused on the PSL and will consider other leagues, such as The Hundred, at a later stage. He maintained that politics has no place in cricket and expressed satisfaction with Abrar’s growth.
