Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) district administration failed to implement its notification to provide the roti at Rs16.
The district administration of Islamabad had issued an order to the Nanbai association to sell roti at cheaper rates but completely failed to implement its orders.
Instead of selling bread at cheaper rates, the Nanbai association has been selling them at their original and inflated rates.
In the federal capital Islamabad, roti is available at Rs25 and naan is available at Rs30 as Nanbai refused to reduce the price of roti and naan.
The price of roti was reduced to Rs16 while the price of naan was reduced to Rs20. There has been a deadlock over the price of the roti in the capital metropolis Lahore and in Islamabad.
On Wednesday, Punjab food minister and Punjab government spokesperson Azma Zahid Bukhari maintained district administration implemented 80 percent of orders across Punjab and that there would be no tolerance for the cheaper price of bread (roti and naan).
On Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif visited several tandoors in Murree to inquire and inspect the price of roti. The PML-N-led Punjab government and the unity government in Islamabad vow to nab the violators.
