The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted bail to three accused in a bribery case linked to the wife of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai.
The detailed written verdict highlights gaps in evidence and leaves key allegations for trial.
The Lahore High Court issued a six-page written verdict in the case involving allegations of bribery from the wife of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman alias Ducky Bhai.
Justice Abhar Gul Khan approved the bail applications of NCCIA former additional director Sarfaraz Chaudhry, Shoaib Riaz, and Salman Aziz. The court ordered their release against surety bonds of Rs100,000 each.
Key issues to be decided during trial
According to the verdict, charges related to transfers and financial transactions will be determined during the trial. The court emphasized that several allegations still require proper examination before reaching a final conclusion.
The court noted that, according to the plaintiff, Sarfaraz Chaudhry allegedly received Rs500,000 as a bribe. However, the record did not prove anywhere that the accused directly received money from the complainant.
The verdict further stated that the prosecution failed to present any victim against the accused.
Additional allegations in case
According to the case record, the accused were also alleged to have taken bribes from call centers. The verdict also referenced an amount of $326,420 recovered from Ducky Bhai’s digital account, clarifying that it pertains to a separate property-related matter.
The court noted that allegations made by the investigation officer regarding the transfer of money into a personal account will be decided during the trial.
These claims remain part of the ongoing legal proceedings and have not yet been proven.
Trial to continue
After reviewing the available evidence and arguments, the court approved the bail applications of all three accused. The case will now proceed to trial, where all pending allegations and evidence will be examined in detail.
